Lisa Simone's Social Media Resume

I'm currently at the FDA as a member of the Office of Science and Engineering Laboratories, and continue to consult in the embedded technology design and assessment, technical education and technical writing.

I am using this page to help you "connect the dots" and learn more than the dry details in my resume and CV - which are located on the left.  They'll provide the laundry list of what I've done, but not my underlying motivations or style - who I am.

My bio page summarizes my industry experience, research work, university curriculum development and teaching, public speaking, writing, and volunteer work.  And with less pain than a full resume.

But what's harder to tease out is who I am and what ties everything together
- the underlying theme of outside-the-box thinking you'll find when working with me.
I was thrown into the fire the first day of my first job - troubleshooting a raging thermal problem on a little medical device.  I found a software bug that first day, thus launching my career as an emergency problem solver.  I could have ended up as a one-sided embedded guru, but my writing and music background wouldn't allow me to stay ensconced as a technical guru in the lab forever.

And I still like to get my hands dirty when I need to (and want to)!  I'm most effective performing in-depth technical analysis, designing embedded systems, problem-solving, leading pure research and R&D teams, and learning and sharing information with others. I also enjoy public speaking, lecturing, writing, and mentoring children K-12 and in college to get them excited about careers in math and science.
